Who We Are
Mission
Cultivating individual leadership & collective power to ensure economic justice for all women.
Vision
We envision a world where all women are equipped & empowered to be the leaders of their own lives and of the social, political, & economic systems that most impact them.
The Movement
Paco Leadership Collective is a diverse group of women & allies across backgrounds & identities working to form cross-sector partnerships that radically reimagine the ecosystems that impact women.
The Problem
The leadership & economic disparities facing women present an urgent crisis that threatens the promise of an equitable society & prevents the creation of a sustainable, thriving economy.
Women of color, those navigating poverty, & those impacted by systems such as foster care or incarceration experience the most devastating impacts & have the least access to relevant resources & opportunities.
The exclusion of these women from leadership & economic participation harms all of us.
Our Solution
Paco exists to address the underrepresentation of women in leadership & break intergenerational cycles of gender-based harm that come from economic exclusion. Rather than focus on single issues or isolated approaches, we leverage comprehensive levers for widespread change because we know that women can not be distilled into the individual systems, structures, or policies that impact them. We interrupt the cycle of gender-based exclusion at every step, centering the voices of individuals most impacted & building collective power to create new systems that work for everyone.
Why It Matters
We haven’t yet tapped into the possibilities that exist when we center women’s experiences & collectively dream about the ways leadership can be more accessible and our economy can be more ethical & responsive to the needs of our most marginalized communities. Yet, we cannot build a future that is just & sustainable for everyone without centering the experiences of women most impacted by oppressive systems & empowering them to transform cycles of harm into ecosystems of care where everyone can thrive.
We believe this work is essential not only for the empowerment of women, but for the health & progress of society as a whole. To this end, we strategically prioritize both individual growth & collective power in order to build a diverse coalition of empowered women creating transformational change.
“You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.”
